Initiative: Funding Full-Time Art Instruction
Why and How:
Due to slightly reduced 2024-25 student enrollment, James Baldwin Elementary fell beneath the threshold for full-time art instruction. Per Seattle Schools rules, the program would become a half-time program in 2024-25 as it did previously.
But our community believes the arts are an important part of a child’s learning experience. That’s why James Baldwin Elementary PTO again funded the second half of the art program, to make sure our K-5 students can attend art class regularly throughout the school year.
