Our first PTO meeting of the year is on Tuesday, January 20 at 6 p.m. in the library. Principal Silver will join us to talk more about how James Baldwin approaches highly capable and differentiated learning, which revolves around how teachers address every student’s individual needs and abilities. (First grade families will be receiving information about highly capable eligibility soon.)
Do you have questions about differentiated and highly capable learning at James Baldwin? Please come out on the 20th to share them, or share them using this form so we can address them at the meeting.
Spanish translation and childcare (for potty-trained kids age 4 and up) will be available.

You're invited to attend monthly James Baldwin PTO meetings! Join us every third Tuesday at 6pm. Come share your ideas, or just listen to what's planned. All are welcome.
Lend a hand, share your talents, and be part of the fun. Volunteer with the PTO and help our school community grow stronger. Sign up for positions that interest you!

Meeting Minutes

James Baldwin Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) supports the highly diverse community of James Baldwin Elementary by advocating for and enriching the experiences of our students, teachers, staff, and families in order to foster the academic achievement and physical, social, and emotional well-being of every student.
Join our amazing team of parents and community volunteers at James Baldwin Elementary. Everyone is a member, and all are welcome to join James Baldwin Elementary PTO. James Baldwin Elementary PTO is a nonprofit that is dedicated to fundraising and facilitating programs to support our teachers and students.
A PTO is an independent, unaffiliated parent-teacher group. It operates at the school level without any connection to a national organization (such as the more familiar PTA), allowing it more flexibility in setting rules, raising funds that go directly to local use, and organizing activities.
We are a nonprofit (EIN 81-2942021) supporting the James Baldwin Elementary community.

Please join us in supporting our students
There are 260 students soaring through the halls of James Baldwin Elementary this year! As a community of caregivers and neighbors, we can directly support important programming like
athletics, arts, and tutoring that will have a positive impact on the lives of our Eagles.
With cuts in federal funding and local budget constraints, every dollar makes a
difference.
$14 buys a yearbook for one student
$55 helps a 5th grader go to camp
$150 buys ten school T-shirts for students
$2,400 funds a music program for 3rd graders
$5,000 supports math and reading tutor salaries
Even if you can't make it to meetings, there are still lots of ways to get involved.
