On Wednesdays (and some Fridays), there is a "bicycle bus," a group of bikers, who ride together on the Neighborhood Greenway route to school. The group is led by Mr. Andrade, the speech teacher, and students and families are welcome to join! Families are responsible for determining the safety of the route for their children.
Stop 1: Ashworth Ave N and N 143rd St at 7:15 AM.
Stop 2: Ashworth Ave N and N 125th St at 7:25 AM.
Arrival: James Baldwin Elementary at 7:35 AM.
They are welcome! Parents and caregivers are encouraged to join but not required. Families who choose to send kids independently should determine the safety of the bike route and whether the ride is suitable for their child.
Safety is a priority. We’ll ride as a group the whole time, with a leader in front and back. The route follows the “Neighborhood Greenway,” which has features like pavement markings, speed humps, and controlled crossings to slow drivers down. Joining the group is optional, and families are responsible for determining the safety of the bike route and whether the ride is suitable for their child.

That’s ok! If you’re able, park your car a couple blocks away from school and walk in. (If you drive, please avoid driving along the route.)
Students can park bikes in the covered bike parking corral near the playfield. Students can’t bring bikes on school buses, but bikes are allowed on the Metro bus. Contact Mr. Andrade (djandrade@seattleschools.org) if you’re not able to get your bike home that day.
